New Life Church – our partner
church in Belarus, have constantly been facing opposition
from their government at various levels and ways. They have
been threatened with jail, illegal demands for information
about their congregation and even liquidation of their church
registration. We have been praying and standing in faith
with them through it all for the past several years. The
pressure against the church has now escalated to involve
pressure against Senior Pastor, Slava Goncharenko and his
family. He was issued an order last week to demolish his
house or they will do it at his expense.
There are a number of ways we can help Pastor Slava in this
situation.
1. Pray for Pastor Slava and his family.
2. He needs our help to raise awareness and protest against
this act of injustice to save his home. Please spread the
news to as many as you can and ask them to pray as well
as write letters of protest.
3. Write a letter to the President of Belarus protesting
against this illegal act. Use the paragraph below as a model
or guide for writing a letter in your own words.
"I, <<your name>>,
am very upset by the fact that Pastor Slava Goncharenko
has received an order from Centralny District of Minsk City
to demolish his
house located at Minsk, Repina street 3. This is <<not
good, not ethical, etc>>. Please undertake all necessary
measures to stop the harassment of Pastor Goncharenko. I
have notified my <<congressman, senator, president
of the USA, etc.>>”
